My ex-student called me last night, and announced, "I am very sad."
She felt that everything was going horribly in her life, but the tipping point was when she found out that she was betrayed by her crush.
"Can you teach me to be happy, Teacher Kean?" she asked.
** I invited her to list down everything bad which happened to her that day. She struggled after writing down the first 3.
You see, the truth is, the VAST majority of things happening in our daily lives are GOOD things or things which are going according to plan.
🖥 My computer turned on this morning.
🥤 I had orange juice for breakfast.
📱 My phone did not die on me in the night.
🍲 I'm going to have Assam Laksa for lunch.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲:
"Are you telling me that being betrayed by my crush can be balanced by Assam Laksa????"
Nope. I can't tell you that. In fact, no one in this world has the right to ever tell you that.
There is only one person who is uniquely qualified to determine whether your crush or Assam Laksa has more weightage in your life.
That's right - YOU. Only you can determine if you want to focus on everything going smoothly in your life, or the setbacks.
𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
The question is - how LONG do we want to dwell on it?
It's alright. Pick yourselves up. You're strong enough, and we'll all get to a steadier place, together.
