Today, let's talk about ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป! I'd like to share with you a really powerful experience I've had at Space Panda, Malaysia, and how I led Malaysia's national car producer to revolutionize their training workshops.
One day, my partner excitedly brought us to a Claw Machine arcade. Upon arriving, I was completely blown away by the genuis of it all.
First off, Space Panda was gobsmacked ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ถ๐บ with customers. Secondly, I was really impressed because it was a snack shop ๐ญmasquerading as a Claw Machine centre, and it was working really, REALLY well.

Space Panda works like this:
1) Find a machine with your desired snack ๐ฌ
2) Each machine has a "Guaranteed Win" count. E.g the guaranteed win count for a Kit Kat biscuit is 4 coins (MYR4). If you fail with your first 3 tries, the 4th try is guaranteed to give you the Kit Kat.
3) SPOILERS: You will likely fail the first 3 times, haha! (the Claw is designed to release early)
In this example, you are effectively buying the Kit Kat at an inflated MYR4. And everyone knows it! But people. CANNOT. STOP. PLAYING.

Why are people willing to pay double the price for a snack which they can easily get for half price at another grocery store? I present to you the power of ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก.
Recently, the training team of Malaysia's national car producer engaged me for a 2-Day Train-the-Trainer gamification workshop. Their internal trainers were already extremely skilled at delivery and were super knowledgeable. But sometimes, they struggled in training engagement for mundane training topics like Orientation, Product Training, or Core Values training.
