2 days ago, I was forced off the highway by a road bully.
It was raining, so I was driving carefully. Unfortunately, this wasn't fast enough for a Porsche Cayenne, who started honking at me.
He overtook me and kept braking suddenly in front of me, forcing me to pull over. Parking his fat car diagonally in front of mine, the bully blocked me from leaving.

Instead, I reset myself.
You see, if I rushed into a confrontation, I would be entering the situation carrying emotional baggage from earlier in the day.
As a work from home parent, it was a truly stressful and challenging day. Lockdown restrictions being lifted meant last-minute client meetings and frantic calls from my kids' schools to pick up books and submit exam papers.
Online learning is already difficult, but my home internet broke down that day, leaving me with 2 worried boys seeking desperately to get back to class. The phone was ringing non-stop.
Whether you are a parent or not, working from home takes a heavy toll on our work productivity and emotions. All of us are struggling, with many of us feeling nervous and burnt out all the time.
Fortunately, I was able to apply some of these techniques to avoid getting into a stickier situation:
✅ Quickly regulate my own emotions and expectations, and to be kind to myself
✅ Establish boundaries and routines at home so my family knew what to do when there are mini-emergencies
✅ Communicate with my family to help them understand my professional obligations and needs
✅ Manage my guilt and stress so that I can continue serving my clients well!
It is therefore with great pride that I conduct workshops like this collaboration with Impact Volution so that you can restore your productivity at work and become much happier!
