I'm often amused by people who give themselves SOO MUCH unnecessary stress and guilt 😡 by putting off critical tasks till the last minute (I love you guys so much!). I do it often, myself, and I have a good laugh at myself each time.
But you know, maybe it's time to stop.
The best explanation I've found for why we procrastinate comes from Fuschia Sirois, a professor of psychology at the University of Sheffield in England.
She explains that generally speaking, there are 3 reasons why:
😱 Some of us believe we work better at the last minute
😨 Some of us are afraid of failure or being judged for our work
😫 Some of are indecisive and can't make difficult or stressful situations
After monitoring myself for some time, I can say with 100% confidence that I procrastinate because I'm afraid of repeating past mistakes and reliving past failures.
The thing is, each of these reasons requires different solutions! And, I'm so excited to be discussing them with you tomorrow in my free Parenting workshop:
